Day 1
Depart on your overnight flight from the UK. Flights can also be arranged from other destinations and we are more than happy to quote without flights if you prefer to make your own way to Borneo.

Day 2
Our driver guide will meet you at the airport on arrival to take you to your hotel in Sandakan or Sepilok. Along the way visit the Memorial Park for a walk around the landscaped gardens to stretch your legs after your flight. The rest of the day is free to explore or relax.

Day 3
Start your day with your first Orangutan encounter at the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre. A visit will also be made to the Sun Bear Conservation Centre. The rest of the day is free to explore Sepilok and keep your eyes peeled for resident primates in the trees.

Day 4
Board a boat to transfer to the Kinabatangan River - cruise past villages and lush rainforest before arriving to your lodge. The afternoon includes wildlife cruises, nature trails and night walks, or take time to relax in the remote riverside setting.

Day 5
Rise early and head out to Oxbow lake where you will enjoy a morning coffee break in the heart of the lake whilst on the look out for the local Pygmy Elephants. Next visit an Orang Sungai river village before heading back for a leisurely afternoon. Later today cruise the river in search of crocodiles, proboscis monkeys and firefly. This evening another river safari can be enjoyed or relax.

Day 6
Check out and cruise to Sukau jetty where you will continue to Danum Valley - world’s most biodiverse ecosystems. Stay amongst the rainforest at the most exclusive lodge in Asia, where your neighbours include wild Orangutan, elephants, red leaf monkeys, clouded leopard and a vast variety of birds, insects and reptiles! A truly incredible place to spend the next few days.

Day 7
Your Danum Valley experience is extended from the usual 2 night escape, to a 3 night stay which we will is a must for those looking to both relax and explore. You have the chance to trek nature trails, travel by 4WD on night safaris and enjoy pampering at the Rainforest Lodge spa.

Day 8
Another full day in Danum Valley to enjoy activities or laze in the lodge or on your private terrace watching Orangutan around you

Day 9
Depart Danum Valley today and travel through the rainforest back to Lahad Datu for your flight to Kota Kinabalu. Here you can head to the Shangri La Rasa Ria for a beach break or travel to Gaya Island for a hideaway experience. The rest of the day is spent relaxing.

A full day to enjoy relaxation in your sumptuous accommodation.

Day 11
This morning enjoy one of your trip highlights - a helicopter ride of Kota Kinabalu, taking in views of the famous Mount Kinabalu and surrounding ancient rainforests. Afterwards visit a tranquil spa for a rejuvinating treatment in preparation for your departure tomorrow. The afternoon is spent relaxing on the beach.
