Day 1
Depart on your international flight from the UK. Flights can also be arranged from other destinations and we are more than happy to quote without flights if you prefer to arrange your own travel.
Day 2
Arrive into Sandakan Airport for your short private transfer to the wildlife town of Sepilok. Visit the colourful market, take in beautiful sea views from a Buddhist temple and stretch your legs with a stroll around the rainforest discovery centre. Take time to enjoy some delicious local cuisine this evening.
Day 3
After a lazy morning in your hammock or private terrace looking out for wildlife head to the famous Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, just a short walk from your lodge before also visiting the Sun Bear Conservation Centre and Proboscis Monkey sanctuary. These can be explored at your own pace without a guide, or with one of our wildlife experts.
Day 4
Travel to the jetty and board a boat for an relaxing cruise along the coast and into the mouth of the Kinabatangan River. The rest of the day is spent relaxing at your lodge, enjoying wildlife cruises along the river or walking the nature trail around the jungle.
Day 5
Wake up to tropical bird song before heading out to Oxbow lake. Enjoy a coffee break on the lake as you search out the wildlife - keep your eyes peeled for giant crocodile and pygmy elephants, as well as wild Orangutan, Proboscis Monkey, Macaque and majestic hornbill!
Day 6
Today travel away from the river deep into the rainforests of Southern Sabah to the wilds of the Tabin Wildlife reserve. An area where rehabilitated Orangutan are released, this is a wildlife hot spot where you can spot many endemic species of mammal and bird living freely in the rainforest.
Day 7
Your time at Tabin Wildlife Reserve is spent trekking through the jungle, hiking to waterfalls, pitched up on the lookout for wildlife at salt licks and armed with a torch for the incredible night safaris on offer.
Day 8
Say goodbye to jungle and travel back to Kota Kinabalu by short flight. Arriving into the city you can either head straight to Gaya Island by boat or enjoy a city sightseeing tour, or a spot of shopping - the choice is yours! On arrival to Gaya simply kick back and relax in paradise.
Day 9
A full day with nothing to do - bliss!
Day 10
Another day in paradise or head to Kota Kinabalu for sightseeing. For the adventurous you may want to add on a trek to Mount Kinabalu before your departure. Diving is also excellent around Gaya Island.
Day 11
Our driver guide will assist you to the airport for your departure flight.
